ARTS 002: Jezebel and the Old Ones Are Hard to Kill
The following radio programs are original broadcasts. While enhancements have been made to the audio for clarity and listener enjoyment, no other edits or modifications have been made. The listener may hear advertisements and notices for tobacco products, alcohol, food and/or services that may no longer be available, nor are they endorsed by Whose Blind Life is it Anyway.
Listener discretion is advised.
Since Marconi invented it, billions of people have listened to and have been entertained by the radio, and in the early to mid-1900’s, old-time radio was the promise of an imaginative time, where families gathered around the radio, sitting in front of the fireplace, and being enthralled with the stories that were broadcast, on what is now known as a very simple device, but in those days, the radio was a source of wonder and entertainment for the whole family.
From episodes of the Lone Ranger and Tonto, Comedy variety shows, like The Jack Benny Show and Abbot and Costello, and the Academy Award Theatre, radio shows of the time had adventures for all tastes.
Whose Blind Life is it Anyway presents classic old-time radio programs, as they were originally aired, with no cuts or edits. These shows are introduced by Monica Jones, and put together with a slight bit of enhancements to improve the sound quality, as some of these shows were originally converted to digital from their original vinyl LP’s.
Join Monica on the Afternoon Radio Theatre Sundae, every Sunday at 2:00 pm EST, 11:00 am PST, and let your imagination run away with you.
Today’s Afternoon Radio Theatre Sundae presents two features. The first feature “Jezebel”, a radio drama based on the Academy Award winning movie of the same name, featuring the talents of Bette Davis, and Anne Revere.
The second feature is a CBS Mystery Theatre production of, “The Old Ones Are Hard To Kill”, with a performance by Agnes Moorehead, who saw fame as Endora on the television series Bewitched (1964-1972).
So, sit back and enjoy.
